Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges can be healed but it’s a long road. Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a new, evidence-based, treatment modality that we offer here at Palm Coast Treatment Solutions to provide people with relief from distressing memories and emotional struggles. Our committed, compassionate caring team understands that the healing happens faster in a safe space where individuals are empowered to take back their lives.

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a relatively new type of psychotherapy that has gained a lot of traction with its capacity to quickly and successfully treat many instances of mental health issues. ART is a directive therapy, that blends aspects of existing therapeutic modality, i.e. cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with distinct eye movement features to assist people in working through and resolving troubling memories and feelings.

The ART is designed to assist people replace negative images and feelings with more positive or neutral ones so that they can feel relief, release, and move on regardless of situations where they used to be triggered due to past events.

Conditions Treated with ART

ART is a broad therapy that can be used for several mental health disorders. At Palm Coast Treatment Solutions, we use ART to help individuals struggling with:

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): People who have undergone traumatic events and struggle to let go of the memories. These memories are better-altered by ART: people can feel gladness, but not suffer from the overwhelming sense of sorrow.
  • Anxiety Disorders: From common anxiety disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, or Specific Phobia, ART works to decrease the level of anxiety by rewiring the brain to how it responds to the stimuli.
  • Depression: ART can assist clients who have depression by identifying and changing negative thinking and perception of past events that lead to negative feelings.
  • Phobias and Fears: From phobia of heights to phobia of social situations, ART gives a method to face and reduce fear in safe and comfortable conditions.
  • Grief and Loss: Sorrow is a normal part of life, however, sometimes people suffer from the loss and do not know what to do next. ART gives an individual a chance to let go and accept loss and helps the individual let go of the pain and attain a form of closure.
  • Other Emotional and Behavioral Challenges: ART can also help the management of anger control, relationship conflicts, and any other related psychological problems.

Advantages of ART

Choosing ART at Palm Coast Treatment Solutions offers numerous benefits:

Unlike general counseling which may take several months or even years to work, ART tends to produce meaningful changes in the lives of people in the space of a few sessions.

Another interesting feature of ART is that it does not require an individual to tell a story of their trauma, which means it is not as stressful as telling their story.

ART is a noninvasive therapy that enhances other holistic care services we provide in Palm Coast. It is mainly concerned with the psycho-social rehabilitation of persons.

The therapists we have on staff are fully certified in ART and offer a non-discriminatory, understanding attitude to every client. We engage with every person we assist to make them as comfortable as possible during the recovery process.

What You Can Expect in an ART Session

At Palm Coast Treatment Solutions, we know that beginning a new kind of treatment can be daunting. This is why we work hard to make our process as painless and as easy to understand as much as we can. Here’s what you can expect during an ART session:

  • Initial Consultation: The therapists will spend some time before the start of the ART to understand what the difficulties are and what are looking to achieve.  This also means that we can specifically design the therapy to what your particular situation.
  • Guided Visualization Process: They will then help you remember or experience the memory or experience that is bothering you.  On top, unlike normal treatments, you do not need to oell the content of the memory.
  • Reframing and Resolution: Once the feeling of hurt is associated with the memory the therapist will then help replace the negative thought with a positive or at the least a neutral thought. It makes you feel final and happy.
  • Post-Session Support: Our therapists suggest ways to cope with thoughts or feelings that come up after the session.  We also book a follow-up session when needed to help us check up on progress.

ART sessions normally take anything from 60 to 75 minutes. However, most patients get better after one session, although some may require more than one session depending on the extent of the problem.

Why Palm Coast Treatment Solutions for ART?

Palm Coast Treatment Solutions stands out as a premier provider of Accelerated Resolution Therapy for several reasons:

It is our strong view that every person is unique in his or her way. The therapists that we work with listen to the patient and the patient’s story and then deliver the therapy as required.

This is but one of the services we offer in our comprehensive treatments. They also combine ART with other treatment approaches, to enhance the quality of life.

We value the concept that everybody has to know that that is the case out there and that they can come and tell their story to recover.

As we stay always up to date with the latest in mental health care and ART, we know that we need everyone in our team to be in the loop because the best care should be the one we deliver.

ART therefore is a veritable and efficient means to the treatment of mental health problems and help people find ardent solace and hope.  We here at Palm Coast Treatment Solutions are happy to offer this new and effective therapy in the hopes of achieving long hours of recovery for our patients.
